The Intayon Ilocos Sur Festival is a celebration I will always remember. As someone who witnessed it firsthand in Ilocos Sur, I felt a strong sense of pride seeing how the whole province came together. The festival’s name, “Intayon,” meaning “let’s go,” perfectly describes the excitement and unity that filled the streets during the event. Everywhere I looked, there were smiling faces, colorful banners, and people eagerly waiting for the performances to begin.

One of the most unforgettable parts of my experience was the street dancing competition. Each municipality presented unique choreography that told stories about their culture, history, and livelihood. The performers wore vibrant costumes decorated with local designs, and their energy was truly inspiring. Watching the performances near the heritage city of Vigan made the celebration even more meaningful because of its historical atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.

I also enjoyed exploring the different booths that featured local products and delicacies. I tasted traditional Ilocano food and admired handmade crafts that showcased the creativity of our people. The festival was not only about entertainment but also about supporting local businesses and promoting tourism in the province.

Overall, my experience at the Intayon Festival deepened my appreciation for our traditions. It reminded me that festivals are important because they preserve culture and strengthen the bond among communities. Being part of such a lively and meaningful celebration made me feel proud to call Ilocos Sur my home.

Empowered Women, Inspiring Change

 Every year, the celebration of National Women’s Month reminds us of the important role women play in shaping our society. This month is dedicated to recognizing the achievements, strengths, and contributions of women in different fields such as education, leadership, science, and community service. It is also a time to raise awareness about gender equality and the importance of respecting and empowering women in all aspects of life.

In our school, the celebration of National Women’s Month was a meaningful event that allowed students to reflect on the value of women in our communities. Through various activities, discussions, and presentations, we were reminded that women have continuously worked hard to break barriers and inspire change. Many students shared their thoughts about how women, such as mothers, teachers, and leaders, influence our lives and motivate us to pursue our goals.

The celebration also highlighted the importance of supporting women’s rights and opportunities. We learned that empowerment is not only about recognizing achievements but also about encouraging equality and fairness. By educating students about these values, the school helped us understand that everyone has a role in creating a society where women are respected, heard, and given equal chances to succeed.

Overall, the National Women’s Month celebration was both inspiring and educational.  Nearing the End, Beginning Something New

    As the fourth quarter comes to an end, I find myself looking back at everything I have experienced and learned this school year. This quarter was filled with many memorable moments, challenges, and accomplishments. From completing school tasks to participating in different activities, I realized how much I have grown not only academically but also personally. Each lesson, project, and experience helped me understand things more deeply and pushed me to do better than before.

    Of course, this quarter was not always easy. There were times when schoolwork felt overwhelming, especially when many deadlines came at the same time. There were also moments when I doubted myself or felt tired from balancing responsibilities and activities. However, instead of giving up, I tried to stay focused and manage my time better. With the support of my teachers and classmates, I learned how to face these challenges with patience and determination. Other than the fact that I was becoming a regular patient in the clinic due to frequent sickness, this quarter has been one hell of a rollercoaster.

    As I reflect on everything, I feel both proud and emotional. After spending years in junior high school, it feels strange to realize that this chapter of my life is almost over. In just a few weeks, I will be stepping into a new journey as a senior high school student. Thinking about it brings a mix of excitement and nervousness, because it means leaving behind familiar routines while also preparing for new experiences and greater responsibilities. As I approach this new phase, I can’t help but think about the opportunities that await in senior high. There will be new subjects to explore, more extracurricular activities to join, and perhaps even new friendships to form. I’m eager to expand my horizons and discover my true passions. Yet, there's a bittersweet feeling knowing that I will miss the comfort of my junior high environment.

    Moving forward, I want to carry with me the lessons and memories I gained during my junior high school years. The friendships, the challenges, and the achievements have all shaped who I am today. Even though this chapter is coming to an end, I know it is also the beginning of something new. As I prepare to enter senior high school, I hope to continue growing, learning, and becoming a better version of myself.

 Capturing the Moments

    Our school’s 124th High School Day was a celebration filled with excitement, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. One of the first parts of our preparation was making our props and decorations. In the photos, you can see how everyone worked together, cutting, painting, and designing materials that would be used during the event. Although it took a lot of time and effort, the process was enjoyable because we shared ideas and helped each other finish our tasks. These moments showed how creativity and cooperation were important in preparing for such a big celebration.

    Another important part of the experience was our practice sessions. Took us a few weeks rehearsing our routines while trying to perfect every step and formation. Sometimes it was tiring, especially practicing under the sun, but we stayed motivated because we wanted our performance to be the best it could be. Through these practices, we not only improved our routine but also strengthened our bond as classmates. The laughter, mistakes, and encouragement we shared during rehearsals made the experience even more memorable.

    The day of the celebration was full of energy and excitement. The parade was colorful and lively, with students proudly marching while carrying the props we had worked hard to create. Music played as the different groups showcased their costumes and creativity. It was amazing to see the school community come together to celebrate the long history and achievements of our school.

    One of the most special moments of the day was our field demonstration performance. As we stepped onto the field, the nervousness we felt during practice slowly turned into confidence. We performed with all our energy, knowing that our hard work had finally paid off. What made the moment even more meaningful for me was that this was my final field demonstration as a junior high school student. Seeing my classmates perform alongside me and hearing the cheers from the audience made the moment both joyful and emotional.
